Living a healthy life is about more than weight loss. It's about eating well
and being active. It's about learning how to take control of your health—

For these reasons, we’ve changed the name of the Centegra Weight-
Loss Institute to the Centegra Healthy Living Institute.
“We strive to provide wellness services that will help people reach their
optimal health,” says Matt Carlen, vice president of health and wellness
for Centegra Health System. “The Centegra Healthy Living Institute
better communicates our goal to support the health of our community.”

t’s always bittersweet to see
summer draw to a close, yet this
is an exciting time of year, too—a time
for new beginnings.
In the pages of this edition of
HealthToday
, you can read about the
latest at Centegra Health System. One
example: the newly renovated Family
Birth Center. In addition to superior
clinical care, including on-site neonatology (care for newborns)
around the clock, it provides luxurious amenities in serene, hotel-
like surroundings. I encourage you to read about it on page 5.
On page 6, you’ll learn about our Oncology Services, including
the Centegra STAR Program
®
for cancer survivors, which is
celebrating its first anniversary. You can find out more about the
program and also read the uplifting story of a cancer survivor.
Finally, with the start of the new school year, we’re reminded
that it’s time to get a baseline concussion screening for our
young athletes. The details are on page 17.
